Bio-dynamic farming and its standards

Due to the increasing needs of hygienic foods, environmental pollution, need to preserve the sustainability of soil nutrients and increasing demand to integrate traditional farming methods to modern agriculture organic farming has become a popular farming method recently. Mean while there has emerged potential to achieve better health and economic profit for organic production. As a quality product should be supply to the organic product consumers today's organic farming has generally become a specific farming method under properly controlled structure, even though the degree of adopting this technology vary according to the country

In the 18th century with the introduction of artificial fertilizer fertilizers and chemicals to the agriculture organic farming methods were given a less attention. In this time period number of aspects related to plant growth were reviled du to advancement of logical scientific methods and chemical analysis. In addition agricultural scientist manages to introduced methods which drastically increased yield of agricultural crops.

Modern organic Farming

Modern organic Farming is indeed a farming method in which number of simultaneous steps and procedures should be considered. Crop rotation, mix cropping, green manure, use of compost and farm yard manure , biological and mechanical pest controlling, soil conservation, integration of animals and prevention from artificial chemicals, artificial fertilizer, artificial growth hormones, artificial feeds, use of genetically modified organisms. Objects of organic farming can achieved by accomplishing all these factors.

The Importance of Organic Farming

New knowledge, machinery, chemicals, biological equipments, industries, processing methods ect played a significant role in the drastic increase of agricultural produce in the recent decade. Yet there are number of negative aspects which were pointed out in this process. These were highlighted when the soil and water was used for agricultural crop production. Following are a summary of negative effects to the soil and water due to the chemicals.

  • Chemical pollution of the environment.
  • Mix of toxic chemicals to food.
  • Reduction of soil nutrients and sustainability.
  • Constraints to human and animal hygiene .
  • Ecological imbalance due to the excessive use of agrochemicals and unidirectional fertilizers.

Organic agriculture has been identified as an essential process to minimize and eliminate above problematic status in ecological systems. Its objective is to reestablish the interactions with in soil , plant, animals and ecosystem. Stimulation of natural environmental cycles has been identified as a need to ensure human hygiene and to minimize environmental pollution.

Organic agriculture persist as a repetitive economically profitable and environment friendly crop cultivation system. Therefore farmers perceive it to be advantages to adopt organic agriculture.
